Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-21
Memoriezz ("the App") is a personal media memory: you save photos, videos, files, notes and
links from any app to your private account, and find and share them again later. This policy
explains what data we collect, why, who processes it for us, and how you can control it.
1. Data we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google we receive your Google account
ID, email address, display name and profile picture URL. We use them to create and
identify your account. We also store the app language you pick in Settings and the
plan you are on.
- Your content. Photos, videos, other files, notes and links you save, together
with titles, descriptions, tags, favourites and album order. For a saved link our server
fetches the page's public preview (title, description, image, site name). Your content
is visible only to you; it is never shared with other users or made public, and it is
shared with others only when you use the Share button yourself. Saving content is
optional and happens only when you choose to do it.
- Purchases. If you subscribe, Google Play processes the payment; we never see your
card details. We receive the subscription status (plan, expiry, renewals, cancellations)
from Google Play through RevenueCat, linked to your account ID.
- Diagnostics. Crash reports and performance data via Firebase Crashlytics
(device model, OS version, app version, stack traces).
- Usage analytics. Pseudonymous events via Firebase Analytics, linked to a random
app-instance identifier and not to your name or email: for example that an item was
saved, opened or shared, its kind (photo, video, note, link, album), how old it is, how
many results a search found, and your plan. We never send the content itself: no
titles, text, tags, links, file names or search words.
- Device and activity. Your country (as reported by our network provider from your
connection; we do not store your IP address), when you last used the App, and for each
phone you sign in on: its maker and model, Android version, app version, app language and
a pseudonymous device identifier (a one-way hash of the Android ID). We use this to support
the devices people actually use, plan updates, understand where the App is used, and to
recognise when several accounts are used on one phone (see Invites).
- Invites. If you install the App through a friend's invite link, Google Play tells
the App the invite code, and we record that your account was invited by that friend. Your
friend sees your first name and the initial of your last name, when you joined and how many
items you have saved (a number only, never the items). If you invite friends, you see the
same about them. We use this to give the invite bonus and to prevent abuse.
- Export to Google Drive. Only if you choose to export to Google Drive, you allow the
App to access your Google Drive with the narrowest permission Google offers: only files the
App itself creates. We use it to create the export folder, upload your own items into it and
show how much free space your Drive has. We cannot see or open any of your other Drive files.
The access is given back to Google when the export finishes or when you disconnect Drive.
- Push notifications. A Firebase Cloud Messaging token for your device, so we can
send notifications (for example a reminder to save your first item). It is removed when
you sign out.
- Advertising. On the Free plan the App shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may
collect your IP address (from which an approximate location is derived), device
identifiers (including the Android Advertising ID) and ad interaction data, to serve and
measure ads and to prevent fraud. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland
you are asked for consent first, and you can change your choice in
Profile → Ad privacy. You can reset or delete the Advertising ID in your
device settings. Paid plans show no ads.
2. Permissions
- Camera — only when you choose to take a photo inside the App.
- Photos and videos — selected through the Android photo picker or received
through the Android Share menu from another app; the App can access only the files you
explicitly choose or share with it.
- Notifications — to show the progress of uploads and offline downloads, and
occasional tips. While a file is uploading, the App may keep running in the background
with a visible notification so that the upload can finish. You can turn each kind of
notification off in the device settings.
- Internet access — to sign in, save, load and share your content.
3. How we use data
To provide the storage service, keep you signed in, apply your plan's limits, fix crashes,
understand which features are used, send the notifications described above and, on the Free
plan, display ads. We do not sell your personal data.
4. Google user data
Memoriezz asks Google only for what the features below need, and only when you use them.
- What we access. When you sign in with Google: your Google account ID, email address,
name and profile picture (scopes openid, email, profile). Only if you
choose Profile → Export → Google Drive: access to files that Memoriezz
itself creates in your Google Drive (scope drive.file) and your Drive's free space.
We cannot see, open, change or delete any other file in your Drive.
- How we use it. The account details identify your Memoriezz account and are shown to
you in the App. Drive access is used only to create the export folder, upload your own
saved items into it and show whether they fit. Nothing else.
- How we store it. Account details are kept in our database with your account. The
Drive permission (a refresh token) is stored encrypted while your export runs and is
revoked and deleted as soon as the export finishes or you disconnect Drive.
- Sharing. We do not share, sell or transfer Google user data to anyone. It is not
used for advertising, not used to train AI models, and no person at Memoriezz reads it.
- Deletion. Deleting your account (Profile → Delete account) removes the
account details and any Drive permission. Files already exported to your Drive are yours
and stay there. You can also remove Memoriezz's access at any time at
myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Memoriezz's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the
Google API Services
User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. Service providers
These companies process data for us, each only for the purpose named:
Advertising data is received by Google AdMob as described in section 1. Google Drive
receives your items only when you export to it yourself.
6. Data on your device
To open without internet, the App keeps your latest items and your name and email on the
device. If you turn on Profile → Offline access, it also keeps copies of your
favourites or of your whole collection there. These copies are stored in the App's private
folder, are deleted when you sign out or remove the App, and can be removed at any time from
the same setting.
7. Data retention
Your account and content are kept until you delete them. On the Standard and Premium plans
a deleted item first goes to the Trash for 30 or 90 days (it still counts towards your storage)
and is then deleted for good; you can empty the Trash at any time. On the Free plan deleting
is final. Diagnostic and analytics data are retained by Firebase according to its own retention
settings. Advertising data is handled by Google according to its own policies. Records of
subscription events are kept as long as needed for accounting. Export archives are deleted
automatically 7 days after they are ready; a copy on your own Google Drive is yours and stays
there.
8. Deleting your data
You can delete your account and all saved content at any time from inside the App
(Profile → Delete account) or by following the instructions at
memoriezz.com/delete-account. Deletion inside the App is
immediate. Requests sent by e-mail are processed within 30 days. Server backups are rotated
within 30 days. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Deleting the account does not
cancel a Google Play subscription; cancel it in Google Play → Subscriptions.
9. Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access tokens are stored encrypted on your device. Files are
reached through short-lived signed links. Our staff cannot open your content in the admin
tools.
10. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Users must be at least 13 years old, or older where local law requires (in the European
Economic Area up to 16) to agree to data processing on their own.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
